Your Labour Councillors in Action

The Labour  Party work on your behalf every day to make things better, one of the ways we do this is to have representation on the District and Town Councils.

When you vote in a Labour Councillor, you vote because you recognise that we share your values of community and the need to work together to improve the lives of residents. These are Labour values. We work on ward issues that include essential needs such as housing, bin collections, parking, transport, crime, social care and anti-social behaviour.

We have kept our promise of being available and responsive and have worked with many residents to improve their situations.

We represent your views and challenge both councils to do more. We listen to your legitimate worries about the funding for the community centre, large scale housing developments, lack of truly affordable housing, the high street and the decline in local services.

We are as frustrated as you by the national policy that creates them. We understand why you feel ignored and forgotten about – but we are listening locally and so is the Labour Party.
We can only create real change with a Labour Government and the investment in services we all need with your vote.

All Councillors meet together for full council meetings six times a year. These are held in public, and are used to decide the council’s overall policies and set the budget each year.
